Many a times we feel disappointed about our certain "first" experiences - ones that did not work out and left us disappointed. It may be first year of college, first love, first kiss, first interview, and so on. Because we usually make mistakes during our "firsts", learn from them, and get better in the future. But we cannot go back in the past to make things different and hence the disappointments stay.
So here is a thing I learnt recently. What if we give importance only to those experiences that really count for us and term them as our "first". For example, if you have had a failed first relationship or failed at your first jb, don't let it count. Learn from your mistake and wait for the true, happy experience. And when you have a successful relationship or a job, that would be your "new first". Just like when we rehearse for a stage performance - we practice several times, but the first and the best one, is the one performed on the stage. Make your "firsts" count!
